Stationary shops in Oman

God forbid you need to buy stationaries in Oman, just in case you wanted some nice pens to write with or a nice little notebook to write your thoughts.
Since i came back about 2 weeks ago I went to two bookshops in Al Ghubra and both of them suck, one of them "PROMISING MOUNTAIN" (what a stupid name) is run by pious men with beards who think they are in the mosque and still whisper, I have never seen more cold and lazy people in my life, they act like they've been woken up in the middle of the night and asked to save the world. FOR GOD's SAKE YOU'RE DOING YOUR JOB.

Anyway my rant is with another place, after i saw the mountain not so promising i wanted to buy some office stationary and went to another place in Ghubra. The Omani girl there had to ask the Indian fellow what to do in every step 'Shall I write O.R 1.5' 'Should i take this book from the bag?' etc.. GOSH WHAT AN IDIOT and not only that she took more than 15 minutes to finish my transaction after missing an item she was also asking me how to write the recipet.
And no she wasn't new i asked her.

People suck.

Road Blocking

What's up with the road blockings here in the capital?
I understand its the national day and we have important people(one actually) going through but do we really have to stop every single citizen's life just because of that?
Yesterday i was held up in traffic for about 30 minutes just in the street outside our house because the road was blocked, how come the authorities never reached a good solution for this matter? Maybe the transport would occur so inconspicuously that no one would notice a VIP is passing by or maybe it should be done by a helicopter but just don't block the ONLY road we can use!
Well i know why they are not addressing this problem.... its because no one is saying anything meh..... people.......

Bahrain OUT!!!!!!!!

FINALLY... my wound has healed with Bahrain being kicked out from WC2006 qualifiers.
I never had anything against Bahrain or their soccer team until the dirty dirty display they showed against my national team Iran in the WC2002 qualifiers and how they took the Saudi flag and waved it around the stadium although they, themselves, were knocked out of the qualifers as well.
You might wonder why i am so sore just because my team(kinda deserving to) got knocked out of the qualifiers. But its not just that, the gesture those.. those ... people did just got me over the top. Them parading around with the Saudi flag means they are like fighting for the Saudis to qualify for the world cup meaning that the Arab Nationalism overcomes their Islamic Nationalism.. yes Iran IS infact a muslim country dammit, whats up with this attitude?
So ya i was sore for them for 4 years, but hey what goes around comes around, we kicked their asses in this qualifiers and then they get knocked out by Trenidad & Tobago(sp?).
HAHAHA HAHAHHAHAHHAHHAHAHAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHHAHA serves you right scumbags HAHHAAHHAHAHAHAH

Da Vinci Code: overrated! 7/10

I finally finished reading this book, started reading it on the plane in the way here.
I have to admit its quite an intriguiting book since i couldn't stop reading it until it was all over. But whats up with all the hype surrounding it? It is nice but the mysteries and puzzles get quite lame after the first few ones.

Oh ya if you forgot that this book is a fiction book i think i have to remind you again despite what Mr. Brown said in the first page: IT IS A FICTION BOOK. Ya i had browest the net to reach that conculsion.

Anyway i would still recommend this book, it is highly entertaining although i was quite disappointed with how it ended.

Spoilers:
So whats up with the lame puzzles? if i draw a straight line that wacko Langdon would say an elephent can be drawn as a line and find a reference to some transexual symbol of an elephent goddess with human eyes and monkey brains in some obsecure drawing to relate it together then end up saying "Ali Mohammadi, what a genius man to write such a puzzle" and am like WTF man i just drew a straight line... i hope you get the idea..

Is it good to be back?

Its been a couple of days since i have been back and i am still wondering is it really good to be back?
Actually it is!!!
New Zealand was quite stressful and soul-eating in the past couple of months especially everything the flat reminded me of, so being away from it kinda helped me mentally.
Its good not to have to worry about cooking anymore since i get my mom's great cooking here hahaha.

Oh ya and its very good to pray in the mosque again. It sucks though they built new shops right next to it without my permission. To think of it Muscat municipality built heaps of stuff without my permission... i would've approved on most of them anyway so they're lucky haha.

I am sure i will get bored of all those things and start longing to go back to NZ soon but hey at least i wrote the good stuff here before i change my mind so when i look back at it i will have an argument against my evil-ali-in-couple-of-weeks personality. Meh he has an excuse though since i am sure my dad and bro will start driving my crazy soon just as they get boring of the idea "ali is back" hahaha.

farewell

So the time of the year has finally come... going back home. I have finished my exams just today(Monday practically yesterday but meh) and am flying back on Wednesday. Its funny how fast the time has elapsed since i arrived here on February.

I finally decided to consider this year a productive year, it had its ups and downs and in the past few months its downs were very very brutal and mind wrecking but i reckon i came out a better man, i learned alot of things over the past year and became way more mature. I meet some great people(and some not so great but meh) and made some awesome friends and lost some old friends as well but.... overall its all been good.
Also i have been doing pretty well academically, i suppose that doesn't really matter until i see the real chalenge in the more specialised year as this year wasn't much of a chalenge really.

Its funny how "having to leave" changes the person. Just couple of days ago i was so low and depressed because all that has happened but right after my exam and after walking in downtown(I saw The Wizard , he's so messed up in the head hahaha) everything just felt better. I realised everything has been actually pretty good today and the downsides were just bumps that hopefully won't effect me ever again.
